Overview
Care Companion Plans (CCPs) had not seen regular annual increases that have kept up with the cost of providing care. Most pricing was based on 2018 costs to deliver care. In February 2023, we implemented a price increase on Care Companion Plans.
This price increase allows us to continue to offer high-quality pet care services for clients, while still offering phenomenal savings on plan items (25%+) and affordable monthly payments to help clients budget for their pet's care. Unlimited visits and an out-of-plan discount is still included.
Care Companion Plan Price Adjustments
Price adjustments are effective Monday, February 13th, 2023
- These adjustments apply to both new enrollments and renewing pets that enroll/renew on or after February 13th, 2023.
- Pets currently on active plans will not have an increase until their plan renews.
- Canine Plans increased $10-15/mo, depending on the plan.
- Feline Plans increased $5-10/mo depending on the plan.

% Discount on Out-of-Plan Services/Medications
- This will be standardized now to 10% across all plans (discount excludes food and specialty procedures).
Production Increase
- There was also a production increase equal to the amount of the plan price increase. The production was applied to surgeries and a few items consistent across all plans.
Client Communication – Clients Coming Due for Renewal
The Wellness Plan team will email clients to notify them of the price increase 4-6 weeks prior to their scheduled renewal date.
- This ensures hospitals do not receive an influx of questions from all clients at once.
- This work will be ongoing during 2023 by the Wellness Plan team.
- A Client Renewal Reward is included in the communication and instructions to apply this coupon were sent to Practice Managers.
